When I met Maura Gale about a year ago it was like meeting Sunshine, Joy, and Fun all rolled up into one body! Her very essence is captivating and that is why I am so excited to announce that she has agreed to perform at the Big Dreams Concert this year. Maura is an artist who believes in helping others pursue their big dreams – especially young talent.

Maura Gale is an actress, a midwife (vision coach) and an evangelist. She speaks, facilitates and emcees at conferences, retreats and special events around the world. As an actress, she has appeared in several Film and Television projects. She co-starred in the ABC movie “Their Eyes Were Watching God” produced by Oprah Winfrey, which starred Halle Berry. Maura is a highly sought after professional voice over talent with hundreds of projects to her credit.

Maura performs her Christian One Woman Shows “SHE-SPEAKS” and “P.E.T.A.L.S” on stages and in pulpits nationwide. She is the author of the Anointed Agenda (a Christian Organizational tool), Beyond Blessed (an autobiographical page turner) and the co-producer of her radio show where she continues to serve #MauraVation.

Not only has she trained countless artists who work in numerous professional capacities from the stage to the boardroom to the big screen, she is the mother of Dana Rice, the founder/director of the Big Dreams Concert.

Dr. Neal is the epitome of what it means to be an artist who is dedicated to the craft and nobody knows this better than her daughters, Dana Rice and Jessica Neal. Both are active in the arts world, exercising the persistent pursuit of passion and excellence that Dr. Neal instilled in them at early ages. More About Dr. Neal

                  Janice K. Neal, Ph.D., performance artist, educator, consultant, keynote speaker, and freelance writer, grew up memorizing and performing literary genre. A crowd pleaser, she engages audiences on a variety of themes, all impacting human dignity and issuing challenges for individual growth. Such engagement is revealed through her skillful usage of spoken word appeal depicted via motivational oratory and literary performance.

The artist has founded and directed nuSpoken Word Choir Bookmerous spoken word choirs in the United States. Whether directing in school settings, church settings, camp grounds, or other establishments, she concludes that spoken word choir members are literary lovers who want others to benefit from their experiences. As part of a revitalization project and at the request of Habitat for Humanity and approval of the City of Jackson, Mississippi, Neal’s inspirational sidewalk poetry for neighborhood youth is recorded in Midtown (Jackson). Her book, A Little of Me/ A Little of You: Spoken Word Choir, is a collection of her original spoken word poetry that she directed in the Jackson Public School system and community and is funded by Greater Jackson Arts Council. Noted assistant executive director, Jon Salem, “This collection is to be treasured – spiritually uplifting, emotionally arresting, and ultimately healing. The children and adult choirs will rejoice in these wise, rhythmic pieces. An impressive body of work.”

International Arts Group cited Neal as one of ten outstanding artists in 2014. She received the David Brian Williams Memorial Award in Poetry/Spoken Word – National at the 42nd Annual Jackson Music Awards in 2016. Kimberly Ross-Brown, Associate Professor of Bluegrass Technical Community College, cited the educator as one of three most outstanding professors in America within the text, Human Relations.

Rev. Glorious J. McCall is a sought after clinician, composer, writer, teacher, preacher. She taught in the Tucson Public School System for 15 years as a Choral Director, and in the Christian School Sector for 5 years as Music Teacher as well as an Elementary class room teacher for 4 years. Minister McCall has served as Min. of Music in several churches and various congregations ,in Arizona, New Mexico and Georgia and has supervised children’s ministry for more than 20 years. She is currently serving as Minister to Children at the Ray of Hope Christian Church Rev. Dr. Cynthia L. Hale Sr. Pastor, in Decatur, GA.

She is a tenured faculty member of the internationally acclaimed Gospel Music Workshop

of America, Inc. (Rev. James Cleveland, Founder) and has published several books and manuals on music ministry. She is an instructor and writer with the Ohio based Children’s Music Ministry Workers Conference. Min McCall was licensed to preach the word in 2002, since then she has brought the spoken Word, to hundreds in revivals, seminars and conferences.

Just Announced: Myra Brown at Big Dreams Concert 2015

We are happy to announce that Actress, writer and director Myra Brown will be gracing the Big Dreams stage on Sunday, Dec. 20th! She will be co-presenting the Hollis Award which is given by Dana Rice Music to an inspiring school music teacher for outstanding service in helping students in pursuit of their Big Dreams.

Ms. Myra as she is affectionately called by many from around the globe. Myra currently serves as Artistic Director of Allen Entrepreneurial Institute at Camp Exposure, a leadership and entrepreneurial Institute for youth from around the globe located in Lithonia, GA., She has worked with young people in grades 5th-12th using theatre skills to promote leadership and entrepreneurship. Ms. Brown has written and directed over one hundred plays with entrepreneurial and leadership skills. In addition to her work at Camp Exposure, she has worked with various collegiate students using performing arts to enhance entrepreneurship and leadership. She is proud of the work she has done with The Yali Mandela Fellows, part of President Obama’s leadership initiative aimed at various young leaders of Africa Nations. Ms. Myra also works with the Allen Productions, in T.V. and Films.
Recently she travelled to Texas to help implement an Edutainment Project for Youth.

A graduate of The Legendary Morris Brown College. A former College Queen and Miss Black Atlanta most talented winner is no stranger to Stage, T.V., and Film. Myra is a sought out Acting Coach and is The Founder of Act-N-Up Youth Theatre. An active member of Atlanta Business Women’s Association, Golden Dome Chapter. Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority, Inc., Theta Alpha Phi National Honorary Theatrical Society.

Ms. Myra is an active member of Salem Bible Church, where she works in various Ministry capacities. Ms. Myra is the mother of one beautiful daughter, Ali’Yah Arnold-Martin and Glam Ma to grandson baby Myles’

Member of Atlanta Symphony Orchestra’s Talent Development Program To Play At Big Dreams Concert

 

 

Kevin Oliver Jr. at Big Dreams

 

Kevin Oliver Jr. is 14 years old and aspires to make a mark on the world through both jazz and classical music. Kevin plays both the saxophone and clarinet and currently plays alto saxophone with the Georgia State University’s Rialto Youth Jazz Orchestra. Kevin also plays clarinet as part of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra’s Talent Development Program and as part of the Metropolitan Atlanta Youth Wind Symphony. Kevin’s big dream is to travel the world as a jazz musician and later get his doctorate degree and be the head of a Jazz Studies department of a major university.
